Le Galion, St. Martin FWI

Just south of Orient Beach is Le Galion, a horseshoe shaped bay protected by surfable coral reef. You can either drive or walk south along Orient Beach through the nudist colony. We didn’t have a car.
We spent the day playing in the shallow water and exploring the abandoned hotel just behind the beach’s bar and grill. A few folks headed over to try their hand at surfing the shallow break at the bay mouth.
Everywhere you go on St. Martin beaches there are bars and small restaurants, with staff taking orders so you don’t have to leave your beach chair. You get really spoiled. It makes it easy to go from a warm day on the beach straight into l’heure de l’apéro without skipping a beat.
